About Emergency Sheltering

One of the most utilized resources during many events involving Emergency Management is our shelter team and sheltering response trailers.  We work jointly with the Red Cross for all of their sheltering needs in Spartanburg County in addition to providing cold weather sheltering when the need arises.  We currently have 2 response trailers, 4 shelter kits, numerous volunteers and community connections that afford us the opportunity to address or assist with any sheltering need that might arise in Spartanburg County.  Whether we are opening a shelter due to an apartment fire, cold weather or a hurricane evacuation on the coast, we are equipped to handle most sheltering needs that arise.  Below are the Shelter Activations our division has assisted with since 2006
