We began DART training around 2008 with Dr. Kevin Elliott. DVM, and we added the Pet Sheltering Component to the program in 2014.  Those active in our DART program initially receive 15-20 hours of DART training from Dr. Elliot, DVM, followed by any additional training opportunities that might arise.  All of our real-world activations have involved pet sheltering, but with the emergence of our SCSAR K9 Unit, our DART members are also receiving training for SAR-based animal responses.  Below are activations that have involved our DART division:
