I-SAFE

Individual Safety Applications For Emergencies (I-SAFE) is a half day course in self defense principles and basic non-lethal tactical skill sets training. The class equips the first responder and civilian operator alike to handle personal safety issues during a crisis situation, using effective and appropriate use of force concepts.

During the course you will learn keys to mannerism reading and emotional decoding, you will learn methods of de-escalation and conflict resolution, and in the event of physical conflict you will be trained how to handle your safety in a realistic, effective, and non-lethal manner that neutralizes the opponent while causing the least amount of harm to them.

Your safety as a first responder to your community or as a responding force in support of a local, State, or Federal agency comes first. You can do no good for others if you yourself are not first safe and secure. In your efforts to respond to a crisis situation you will very likely encounter individuals that are under extreme emotional duress and have the potential to become verbally abusive, or even physically violent towards themselves or others (including yourself). It is important in terms of personal safety and the safety of others that first responders and civilian operators have at the minimum, a basic understanding of conflict resolution and self defense skills, in order to help calm upset persons, and even in the case of physical conflict, be able to diffuse the situation in a manner that does the least amount of harm to accomplish the most amount of good in the situation.
